After gaining a Masters degree from RADA and Kings College, Ruth joined the Kings Head Theatre as an Assistant Director. In 1997 she joined Channel 4’s animation department and was soon promoted to Assistant Editor, Animation & Arts. In 2002 she left Channel 4 to set up Lupus Films with her colleague Camilla Deakin. In their second year of business, Lupus’ productions were nominated for four British Animation Awards.
Through Lupus Films Ruth has produced animation and live action shows for the BBC, Five, UKTV, Channel 4, ITV and Disney. She was the Producer of a CGI re-make of children’s classic The Pinky & Perky Show for the BBC and France 3, and commissioned and acquired 60 short animated films for Channel 4’s Random Acts strand. Ruth managed the in-house team on Lupus’ double BAFTA nominated production of The Snowman and The Snowdog and produced pre-school series Toot the Tiny Tugboat for Channel 5’s Milkshake, S4C and Cartoonito. In 2016, Ruth produced season two of The Hive for Disney Junior and We’re Going on a Bear Hunt for Channel 4 as well as developing a new 52 part series for Disney XD called My Big Red Head.
Ruth was one of the producers who sat on the UK Government’s Treasury Working Group for Animation Tax Credits and is Chair of Creative Skillset’s Animation Skills Council.
