It’s with much excitement that we can announce that Ethel & Ernest has been selected in competition for best ‘European Animated Feature Film’ at the 30th edition of the European Film Awards.
The awards are a major event in the European filmmaking calendar and honour the greatest achievements in European cinema. The film will be up against ‘Loving Vincent’, ‘Louise en Hiver’ and ‘Zombillénium’. Past winners of ‘European Animated Feature Film‘ have included ‘My Life as a Courgette’ (2016), ‘Song of the Sea’ (2015) and ‘The Art of Happiness’ (2014).
The winners will be chosen by the 3,000 EFA members and will be announced at an award ceremony taking place on the 9th of December in Berlin.
The nomination is testimony to all of the wonderful talented people who worked on the film and is another excuse to thank everyone who worked on the film, including our co-producers and financiers Melusine Productions, Cloth Cat Animation, BFI, BBC, UPHE Content Group, Film Fund Luxembourg, Ffilm Cymru Wales and the Welsh Government.
Cue a collective crossing of fingers!
