Training

Lupus Films offers a fun and friendly place to work. We believe in supporting people’s personal development and nurturing talent.

We recognise the value of teamwork and aim to provide a collaborative work environment. To that end, training is a core part of our business. We offer further training for existing staff members and also run extensive trainee programmes for people looking to break into the industry, in partnership with Creative Skillset, Creative Access, the BFI and Arts University Bournemouth.

We take a holistic approach to skills and training provision across the company from the Managing Directors through to the production runners. Via ‘on the job training’ on a variety of productions and development projects, we strive to grow the company and to maintain talent, offering skilled trainees to future productions and the wider animation industry.

Since April 2014 Lupus have provided training for more than 70 trainees, with the majority of participants learning on the job with mentorship support, receiving training in industry standard software including CelAction, Maya, Toon Boom, Storyboard Pro, TVPaint, Final Cut Pro and Premiere.

Working with our training partners has inspired us to position training at the heart of what we do, and we will continue to ‘up-skill’ our existing staff and encourage new entrants to the industry through a variety of schemes.

Please visit our training partners’ websites for further information on how to register as a trainee, and to find opportunities to train with Lupus Films, as they come available.

For our feature film Ethel & Ernest we produced a learning resource that features interview videos, activity sheets, and behind the scenes material, to give an insight into how the film was made and the different roles involved in the production.
